Birthday Cake

Notice Luke enjoying his cake. He doesn't put his hands down until it is all gone! It was much longer than this clip......
I will post more of his birthday fun soon. It looks like the blog spot has changed some of their video features, so we don't have to go through you tube. Let me know what you all think, this vs you tube sidebar.. We are not posting pics as quickly because our camera is in the shop (bad timing for it, but what can you do?). We hope to be up and running more frequent postings soon. PS Happy Birthday to me... I had an extra special day thanks to all the birthday greetings!

1st Birthday

For all you devoted viewers.... sorry it has been so long since the last update. We have been so busy with Luke's Bday and traveling over Thanksgiving. As you can tell from the picture Luke LOVES cake. He got to enjoy two cakes, one here in Texas and one in Tennessee. We have found that he has a little bit of a sweet tooth! Our trip to TN went very well, we drove the WHOLE way. If I haven't mentioned it lately our baby boy is an absolute ANGEL. He did amazingly well. He only cried for about 10 minutes when we were 2 hours from home. ANGEL. We enjoyed getting to see all of the family. Although Luke didn't want to be squeezed up by everyone right away, he did enjoy all the attention and playing with everyone. A few highlights from our visit.... beautiful fall colors, a samba dance lesson, Luke's first ear infection, John and Matt indoor rock climbing, cake, birthday fun, delicious food, food and more delicious food, and best of all... seeing the family and catching up! We even got to see Uncle Austin and Sophie at McD's in Dallas on the way back home (Luke gives Mc Donald's fries 2 thumbs up). Developmental updates... Learning to blow kisses (thanks Aunt Michelle), Pretend sneezing (thanks Uncle Matt), walking very well, eating more solid foods, becoming more vocal.

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween everyone! Luke was the cutest little Skunk, or as we like to say, little stinker! We had a great time greeting ghouls and princesses and then cruising the neighborhood for our own treats. Luke enjoyed seeing all the kids and he was very good about putting his candy in his pumpkin bucket. We also practiced waving bye-bye.

Pumpkin Patch

We had a great day today enjoying the fall weather! We went out to Canyon Lake to check it out. Of course, Luke and Ace had to get in the water. We also took Luke on his first trip to the pumpkin patch and he picked out his first pumpkin. He liked beating on the pumpkins like drums and putting them in his mouth to see if they were just right.

Down and Out

Sorry it has been a while since the last update. Luke has been sick for about 2 weeks with one thing or an other. He is a trooper though. He recently had a stomach bug, vomiting and diarrhea. He is hopefully on the tail end of it. This was the first time he has really been sick, he made it almost 11 months. He seems to be gaining his strength and spirit back. We have been missing his happy go lucky attitude.
I guess I should make a side note to the last post... I suppose I was jumping the gun when I said Luke is walking. It would be more accurate for me to say that Luke can walk. I hope to catch him on video soon so that everyone can see!! For now, enjoy the new pic's. In the pictures Luke is playing with his bouncy soccer ball. His MDO teacher says that if he is upset, just give him a ball.... so true!

WALKING

It is official, Luke is WALKING!!!! Over the past week we have noticed him standing up on his own and taking one or two steps and then falling down. Last night he was standing on the tile floor and then he just started putting one foot in front of the other and he took 10 steps before falling down!! We were both there to see our little baby turn into a TODDLER! He has been on his feet a lot today and it looks like he is getting the hang of walking. However, crawling gets him into trouble faster so he prefers that. This week he has also learned how to shut doors, open the toilet lid and climb up on things. None of thim compare to WALKING!!

1st, 1st, 1st

Luke started a mother's day out program Aug. 30th, it is Tue and Turs from 9-2. The 1st few times didn't go so well but we got our first happy progress report last Thurs.( his 4th time there). We have had several "1st" over the past two weeks.....steps (3 total), high 5, dada, clap, and 1st tooth. He hasn't mastered anything yet but he is practicing! So far teething hasn't been tooooo bad. We are still at the beginning stages and we are still hopeful that it won't be too bad, very hopeful!! Stay tune for a video upload coming soon.

Soccer Time

Soccer season is here! We went to our first game of the season in Sherman last weekend. It was nice to see Uncle Austin! Luke enjoyed cheering the team on and watching the big boys run around the field. Very soon I feel that Luke will be hitting up his Uncle for some soccer lessons, well he does have to learn how to walk first...Speaking of that he got a new walker toy which he likes to stand behind and push around the living room. He can also stand on his own for about 8 seconds. Also, I am not for certain but, he may have taken a first step last Wed. This could have been completely accidental but we will be watching and encouraging!! Oh by the way, if you want to see how Austin's soccer team is doing visit their blogspot..address is in our links section.

Just plain CUTE

Is this picture not the CUTEST!!! Luke is now able to "chase" the dogs down. They are tolerating him pretty well. This week little guy has learned how to put items into cups. He is getting VERY smart. He even knows when he is being on the rebellious side.

Keeping Cool

Luke is 9 months now!! He is growing sooo fast, we can't hardly believe that he will be 1 yr in 3m. It is not the best pictures but, you can probably tell by his cheesy smile how much he enjoys playing with his beach ball, it's by far his favorite toy. However, he loves all kind of balls he can stay entertained in the tub by chasing a small ball around for nearly 20min, which is a long attention span for a little guy. Luke is definitely into everything now. We have to constantly be on guard and tidy control, because if it is on the floor it is in his mouth. He has recently discovered the doggie dish! Yeah, that was fun... (Be sure to check out the new video posting)

Movies

John's latest thing is being a stunt man. He is Russia Mob Guy #2 in a movie they are filming called "Tremons". He has a small speaking part where he gets to speak Russian, fight and get shot! This will make John's 2nd film appearance, the 1st called "Fighting With Anger". The paparazzi isn't knocking the door down yet, but maybe soon!

Sweet Sentiments

This is the new side thing that I am doing. I haven't officially started selling anything but I hope to very soon!!

Getting Busy

Luke's wanting on the floor all the time now. He LOVES to exlpore everything. It is so much fun to watch him learn more about his environment. He enjoys eating very much. He makes noises the whole time, it sounds like yuuuuuumm. He is also learning how to drink from a sippy cup.
