Beautiful Days

It was such a beautiful weekend! We spent a lot of time outside. As I already mentioned we are doing a little face lift to the outside of the house. Luke has to help, of course. Notice in the picture that he didn't want his toy hammer he wanted the real one. Eventually, he started using his again-much safer. He loves his toy hammer because it makes LOTS of noise and he likes to bang things. We also enjoyed some water play outside. It was 85 out Monday! Today it is 70.

Obama

Thanks for voting on our poll. It is fun to read the results. Interactive technology!

By the way, John, who is always at the right place at the right time, saw Barack Obama today walking near the downtown area. Obama and Clinton are here for a debate. Obama was walking down the sidewalk talking on his cell phone and was surrounded by several security guys. John said he was very close to him. Seriously!

Painting

We are doing a little face lift on our house. John is painting the once green trim a more neutral shade to match the rest of the house. As always the little helper is also busy at work painting the house with water.

I have put a poll on the blog. I am hoping all that visit will take it. I love to keep everyone updated on our happenings, especially for the out of town family and friends. In my opinion it helps us to feel closer some how. However, I want to know how often I need to update the spot...I can do daily if enough people visit regularly.

Sweet Ace

Ace has been a good mentor for Luke lately. Today Luke walked Ace on his leash to the mailbox. Of course Ace doesn't know how to walk slow enough for Luke so I did help some. It was nice because it kept Luke focused and he felt like a big boy. Ace has been so patient and tolerant of Luke. The other day I was making dinner and noticed that Luke was just to quiet in the other room, usually that means he is up to no good. When I looked around the counter I saw Luke sitting beside Ace. Luke was checking out Ace's ears flipping them forwards and backwards. Then he leaned over and touched his forehead to Ace's (Luke's way of giving kisses). It was the sweetest little moment.

Belt?

Belt? We have been having trouble keeping Luke's pants up. John went to Target today to get him a belt, of course they don't make them small enough. So John's creative mind had an idea. The Dog Isle. Luke's sporting his new fashion statement in the photo, his dog collar belt. It works! While he was at the store some customer was watching him fit Luke for his belt, she got a huge kick out of it and said it was the funniest thing she had seen in a while, but a great idea!

Big Boy

Luke has become such a big boy over the past few weeks. Things we are working on.... kisses on the cheek, putting laundry in the hamper, climbing, barrel rolls on the carpet, where our nose is, giving the dogs water and treats, self feeding and of course being cute! As you can see in the picture he has not mastered feeding himself with a spoon but he sure likes to try. His nick name this week is "tester". He knows there are a few things he is not supposed to touch or do, ie. go in the street, touch the entertainment equipment, play in the doggy dishes. He now attempts to reach out with his toes to see if it might be ok to do those things that way. I can't help but laugh and then of course remind him that that way is not ok either. He helped me wash my car for the first time this week. Well, he mainly played in the water puddles! Maybe someday I can talk him into doing the dirty work.
A John update...His Elite Martial Arts program is going very well. He now has 16 students in his program. It is growing very quickly and we are all excited for him. He is having such a great time and I know that he is influencing them in such a positive way.

100% Adorable

If I have not mentioned it lately, Luke is the most adorable little boy! He was a big eye catcher at the doggie park, if you look closely you can see that he is pushing Gypsy in the stroller- she is in the bottom basket. He was very brave and didn't cry when some of the dogs there got a little over friendly and kissed his face.
